Destination

About Honningsvåg

Honningsvag, a fishing town on the Arctic island of Mageroya, is the gateway to the North Cape, the cliff-top plateau 34 km north often billed as Europe's northernmost point. The town itself is small and walkable, with colourful wooden houses around the harbour, a church that survived the Second World War and a few galleries and cafes. Most visitors head straight for the North Cape and its visitor centre, either on a ship excursion or the North Cape bus.

King crab safaris, Sami reindeer stops and birdwatching boat trips round out a typical call. Summer calls coincide with the midnight sun.
