About Spirit of Discovery

Spirit of Discovery was delivered by Meyer Werft at Papenburg on 24 June 2019 as Saga Cruises' first purpose-built ship and the yard's first with Siemens eSiPod propulsion. The Duchess of Cornwall, now Queen Camilla, named her at the Port of Dover on 5 July 2019, and she sailed her maiden voyage from Dover on 10 July 2019. In June 2025 she had a two-week drydock at A&P Falmouth.
