About Le Ponant

Le Ponant is a three-masted sailing yacht and Ponant's first ship, in service since 1991. In April 2008 she was seized by pirates in the Gulf of Aden while sailing without passengers; her crew were released unharmed a week later. A refit at Genoa that began in 2019 and was interrupted by the pandemic was completed in 2022, and she now carries 32 guests in 16 suites.
