About L'Austral
L'Austral was built by Fincantieri as a sister of Le Boréal for Compagnie du Ponant. She was officially inaugurated in Marseille, Ponant's home port, on 26 April 2011, alongside Le Boréal and Le Levant. In April 2026 she was dry-docked at Astican in Las Palmas, where she and Le Boréal were fitted with new bulbous bows designed to cut fuel use and emissions.
