About Le Boreal

Le Boréal was built by Fincantieri at Ancona and delivered to Compagnie du Ponant in April 2010. On 18 November 2015 an engine-room fire off East Falkland left her without propulsion, and all passengers and crew were evacuated safely. She was carried to Genoa on a heavy-lift ship, repaired by Fincantieri and returned to service on 24 May 2016. In April 2026 she was fitted with a new bulbous bow at Astican in Las Palmas to cut fuel use.
