About Giardini Naxos

Giardini Naxos is a seaside town on the east coast of Sicily, on the bay below Taormina and within sight of Mount Etna. It is a tender port: ships anchor in the bay and bring passengers ashore to the pier at Schiso.

Beside the pier are the remains of ancient Naxos, the first Greek colony in Sicily. Most visitors head up the hill to Taormina for Corso Umberto and the ancient theatre, or take excursions to Etna, the island of Isola Bella or the village of Savoca.
