Where is the Vancouver cruise port?

Ships dock alongside at the Canada Place cruise terminal, the pier with white fabric sails on the downtown waterfront of Burrard Inlet; there is no tendering, and berths vary by ship.

The terminal is right next to Waterfront Station (SkyTrain, SeaBus and West Coast Express), so downtown, Coal Harbour and Gastown are on foot; the Steam Clock is about 600 m (8 minutes) away.

Vehicles enter via the ramp at the foot of Howe Street to the underground drop-off and parkade.

Driving to the port

Vehicle access to the terminal is via the ramp at the foot of Howe Street, with port traffic attendants directing cars to the drop-off and pick-up (orange zone on P1). On days with several ships turning around, downtown traffic near the terminal is heavy; SkyTrain avoids it.

Destination

About Vancouver

Vancouver is British Columbia's largest city, set on a peninsula between Burrard Inlet and the Fraser River, with the Coast Mountains rising directly to the north.

The compact, walkable downtown is ringed by water: Coal Harbour and the Seawall, the forested Stanley Park, historic Gastown with its cobbled streets and Steam Clock, and Granville Island's public market across False Creek. The city has a strong food scene shaped by Pacific seafood and large Asian communities.

For cruising, it is the main homeport for Alaska and Inside Passage voyages, both round trip and one way, and also sees transpacific, coastal and repositioning calls.

Climate
