About St John's

St John's is the capital of Antigua and Barbuda, on a deep harbour on Antigua's northwest coast, overlooked by the white twin towers of St John's Cathedral.

The waterfront splits between Heritage Quay, a duty-free shopping complex, and Redcliffe Quay, a restored area of older warehouses with shops and cafes. Beaches such as Dickenson Bay are close to town, while the south coast holds UNESCO-listed Nelson's Dockyard and the Shirley Heights lookout.

St John's handles almost all of Antigua's cruise calls and, since late 2025, homeport turnarounds.
