Where is the Juneau cruise port?

Ships dock along the downtown waterfront at four berths spread over about 1.5 km of Gastineau Channel.

The city-owned Alaska Steamship Dock by Marine Park and the Cruise Ship Terminal Dock next to the Goldbelt Tram building are a few minutes' walk from downtown. The private Franklin Dock is about 600 m further south, and AJ Dock is about 1.7 km (25 minutes' walk) south on Thane Road, with a shuttle usually running to the Tram building.

On busy days a ship may share a dock or anchor and tender passengers ashore near Marine Park; dock assignments vary by ship and day.

Destination

About Juneau

Juneau is Alaska's capital, a city of about 32,000 on the Gastineau Channel in Southeast Alaska, at the foot of Mount Juneau and Mount Roberts. No road links it to the rest of North America, so everyone arrives by sea or air.

The town grew from an 1880 gold strike, and Klondike-era buildings, the Art Deco State Capitol and Tlingit cultural sites fill its compact downtown. Above the city, the Juneau Icefield feeds about 30 glaciers, including the Mendenhall Glacier, about 21 km from downtown, and humpback whales feed in nearby waters from spring to autumn.

Juneau is Alaska's busiest cruise port, with nearly 1.7 million passengers in 2025.

Climate
Mild, very wet temperate-rainforest climate, with summer highs usually 16–18°C and rain on about 230 days a year. Winters are near freezing, with snow from November to March.
