Princess Cruises Confirms Sale Of the Pacific Princess

Princess Cruises have announced they have sold their smallest ship in the fleet, Pacific Princess to an undisclosed buyer as part of Carnival Corporation’s plan to accelerate the removal of less efficient ships from their portfolio.

Built in 1999 for the now defunct Renaissance Cruises as R3, she would join Princess Cruises in 2002 as Pacific Princess and offered guests a boutique-style cruising experience in an intimate setting with capacity for just 670 guests.

In her time with Princess Cruises, Pacific Princess sailed more than 1.6.million nautical miles, 11 World Cruises and offered guests a varied choice of distinctive itineraries across the globe.

Jan Swartz, Princess Cruises President hailed the time Pacific Princess spent with the cruise line, stating:

“Pacific Princess holds so many memories and cherished experiences to all who sailed upon her.

“Pacific Princess offered a traditional style of cruising to unique destinations. While it’s difficult to say goodbye to our ‘Love Boat,’ our World Cruise and exotic itineraries continue onboard our Medallion Class-enabled Island Princess and Coral Princess, featuring the best Wi-Fi at sea, allowing guests to keep in touch with loved ones and share vacation memories along the way.”

For those guests who had bookings on Pacific Princess, they and their travel agents will be notified and will receive information on how to book another Princess Cruises for when their cruise operations resume. Guests who wish a full refund will also be accommodated accordingly.
