About Dingle
Dingle (An Daingean) is a small harbour town on the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry, on Ireland's south-west Atlantic coast. It sits in a Gaeltacht Irish-speaking area and is known for brightly painted shopfronts, traditional music pubs, and a working fishing harbour.
The surrounding peninsula offers Slea Head Drive, Atlantic cliffs, beaches and early Christian sites such as Gallarus Oratory. Smaller luxury ships list Dingle as a port of call, including Windstar's Star Explorer on Circumnavigating Ireland sailings in 2027, using the town harbour rather than a dedicated cruise terminal.
- Climate
- Dingle has a wet Atlantic maritime climate year-round. Official Met Éireann Dingle G.S. rainfall records for the town show typical monthly totals roughly 80–110 mm in spring and early summer and about 140–165 mm from October through January, with rain days frequent in every season.
