About Chioggia

Chioggia, at the southern end of the Venetian Lagoon, is a lively fishing town often called 'Little Venice'. Its herringbone plan of canals and narrow calli runs off the broad Corso del Popolo, lined with cafes, churches and the Granaio, a 14th-century granary now home to the fish market's neighbour.

The Canale Vena, with its bridges and fishing boats, is the town's most picturesque corner, and the beach resort of Sottomarina lies just across the bridge. Venice itself is reachable by lagoon boat.

Climate
In November, Chioggia cools quickly. Average highs fall from about 15°C to 9°C, and lows from about 9°C to 4°C. The chance of a wet day eases from 25% to 21%, with about 55–65 mm of rain over the month. Bring layers and a waterproof.
