Carnival Mardi Gras

Ship Overview

Spanning 20 decks high above the sea level Mardi Gras is the latest XL-Class flagship in the Carnival Cruise Line fleet. Paying homage to the line's very first ship TSS Mardi Gras, which set sail in 1972, the new Mardi Gras is a grandiose vessel that accommodates 6,500 passengers. With all the new features Mardi Gras is one of the most innovative cruise ships adding more dining options, staterooms choices, and of course tons of fun activities for all ages. Among many innovations incorporated in this ship is the introduction of six themed "zones", each a tribute to a different culture. The New Orleans-inspired zone “French Quarter” is the heart and soul of the ship where guests will experience classic live jazz music, and a dining venue by the celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse.
The Grand Central zone located mid-ship features three-deck-high floor-to-ceiling windows and an impressive bar overlooking the ship’s starboard side. This area which is used for various entertainment events will also offer easy access to the Bonsai Teppanyaki and Bonsai Sushi restaurants, Piano Bar 88 and the Punchliner Comedy Club.
On Deck 8 is located La Piazza zone where guests will experience authentic Italian cuisine at the family restaurant Cucina del Capitano, a Mediterranean-themed seafood restaurant, and the 24/7 Pizzeria del Capitano, as well as a bar serving coffees during the day and Italian cocktails in the evening.
The ultimate chill spot, Summer Landing is located at the aft of Deck 8, offering an expanded Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse Brewhouse, a pool and whirlpools, and lounge areas.
Lido area on Decks 16 and 17 offers a variety of casual poolside restaurants, including BlueIguana Cantina, Guy’s Burger Joint, the New England-inspired Seafood Shack.
Higher above on Decks 18 -20 is the family-friendly Ultimate Playground, which will feature Bolt, the first rollercoaster at sea, Carnival’s largest WaterWorks aqua park in the fleet, and an expanded SportSquare.
Carnivals most popular signature venues including Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse, Alchemy Bar and the Serenity adult-only retreat are also be incorporated onboard Mardi Gras
