About Toulon

Toulon is a Provencal port city and France's main naval base, set on one of the finest natural harbours in the Mediterranean beneath the limestone wall of Mont Faron. Its old town is a maze of shady squares, fountains and the lively Cours Lafayette market, with the National Navy Museum on the quay.

A cable car climbs Mont Faron for sweeping views over the bay, and the Le Mourillon district has sheltered beaches and seafood restaurants. Across the harbour, La Seyne-sur-Mer leads to the sandy beaches of Les Sablettes.
