Where is the Chalki cruise port?
Cruise and ferry passengers for Chalki use the harbour at Emporio (Nimborio), the island's main settlement inside the bay. The Municipal Port Fund of South Dodecanese describes a dock with about 50 m frontage, usable depth about 7.30 m and length about 48 m, serving passenger and vehicle ferries, catamarans, luxury yachts and smaller passenger craft on the Kamiros Skala (Rhodes) link.
The map pin marks the Chalki 851 10 locality on the Emporio harbour waterfront as a harbour reference, not a confirmed cruise berth. How cruise passengers come ashore has not been confirmed on a port authority or cruise operator's own page, so check with your ship for landing arrangements.

About Chalki
Chalki (also Halki) is a small Dodecanese island west of Rhodes in the South Aegean. Its only settlement, Emporio (Nimborio), wraps amphitheatrically around a natural harbour lined with neoclassical houses in white, ochre and pastel colours.
The island takes its name from copper mining (chalkos) in antiquity and later thrived on trade and sponge diving. Beaches such as Pondamos, Ftenagia, Yali, Kania and Areta sit within walking distance of the harbour village. Inland, the deserted Old Village and the ruined Knights of St John castle overlook the bay. The quiet scale, harbour cafes and clear water make Chalki a short-call destination for small-ship cruising in the Dodecanese.
- Climate
- The Aegean islands have a Mediterranean climate: a cold and rainy season from mid-October to the end of March and a warm, largely rainless season from April to October. Winters are milder on the Aegean islands than in northern and eastern mainland Greece. In the warm season, coastal heat is moderated by sea breezes and by northerly seasonal winds (etesians) that blow mainly in the Aegean. This is Hellenic National Meteorological Service guidance for the Aegean islands, which include the Dodecanese, not local station measurements on Chalki.
